Steve has over 29 years of industry experience with expertise in the design, placement, and program advisory for workers’ compensation, hospital and physicians’ professional liability, and specialty property and casualty business. Prior to serving in the broker capacity with BMS Intermediaries Inc and Advocate Reinsurance Partners LLC since March 2015, Steve spent over six years at the reformed JLT Re NA helping establish the broker’s treaty presence in the U.S. starting in 2009. Steve’s treaty broking experience started in 2003 where he was part of the Aon Benfield workers’ compensation practice group. Under the Aon corporate banner and prior to his reinsurance broking, Steve headed the Chicago office of Wexford Underwriting Managers, a specialty excess workers’ compensation reinsurance facility. Finally, Steve worked for National Reinsurance for five years as a production underwriter and The Farmers Insurance Group for two years.

Steve attended the University of Illinois and graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor’s of science in economics and a Master of Economics degree.
