JJ brings more than 30 years of reinsurance industry experience, with deep expertise in property and casualty reinsurance and broad experience across lines of business, reinsurance structures and business development. Prior to Fathom Re, JJ served as Chief Production Officer at BMS Re following its acquisition of Trean Intermediaries, where he was Managing Partner. Before joining Trean, JJ was with JLT Re (formerly Towers Watson).

Earlier in his career, he was part of the founding team of Axiom Intermediaries and continued with the organization as President following its acquisition by Brown & Brown. He began his career on the underwriting side of the business at Chartwell Re in 1995.

JJ earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts degree from East Carolina University.
